Matts?

-Matting Develops when a dog's fur intertwines into a mass of loose fur & knots, these then wrap together to form a clean or dirty mat. When you pet your dog, mats may feel like soft thick lumps over the dogs skin, often it is difficult to distinguish where the skin is. At times a mat may be so close to a dog's skin that it can cause baldness or poor circulation in that area, and it can hide under the coat that appears to be mat and knot free.

From a groomers perspective when we shave the matts it comes off like pelted sheep fur indicating that the whole body is matted vs just a local section. Depending on how close to the skin a matt is we have to use anything from (short) 5 - 10 (bald short) blade. On a positive note it gives you and your pet a fresh start to regrow and rethink on a style that works for you and your pet while being fun friendly.
